The SDGHA is proud to offer the following scholarships to players who are graduating and will be attending a post-secondary program.
The Mélisa Kingsley Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of a former Sudbury Lady Wolves player, friend, sister, and daughter who demonstrated strength and courage throughout her battle with Synovial Sarcoma. Scholarships are awarded once a year to student athletes in order to assist them defray costs associated with pursuing a college or university education. In order to be eligible for this $1000 award, the students must be members of the Sudbury and District Girls Hockey Association.
We are thrilled to offer you the opportunity to apply for the Sudbury Wolves Scholarship. This prestigious scholarship, generously sponsored by the Sudbury Wolves, is designed to support the academic pursuits of U18 graduating players within the Sudbury District Girls Hockey Association who are embarking on full-time college, trade, or university studies in September 2024. The Sudbury Wolves entrance scholarship of $1500 will be awarded during our annual senior banquet in May.
The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Scholarship was introduced in 1997 to recognize and reward dedication in education and hockey. The program provides financial assistance to registered OHF participants to offset the cost of post-secondary education. Since its inception, the OHF has distributed more than $450,000 to over 400 post-secondary students.
The scholarships are awarded to outstanding young people who display commitment at the arena and in the classroom. The recipients are determined on the basis of academic achievements, hockey and community involvement.
